Armação

Armação is a mini collection of textile patterns made out of fabric scraps from Koa Estampa & Design. The reproposal of the waste material created three surface pattern designs, which were applied in products of the homewear segment.

Pattern 1: Thin sewed stripes made of raw cotton scraps to form a traditional basketry woven pattern for a bench upholstery.

Pattern 2: Wide stripes made of raw cotton and turquoise fabric scraps sewed together to form a horizontal striped pattern for one side of the cushion.

Pattern 3: Tile scraps of raw cotton fabric joined by wadding using the textile collage technique, and reinforced in the sewing machine to form a new base fabric. The top were silk screen printed with a pattern drawing inspired in an antique basketry weave. This design was applied to the other side of the cushion.
